Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati) has taken a shocking pole position at Sepang Circuit – Malaysian MotoGP 2016, because the Italian veteran successfully recorded the fastest time and remained unthreatened. Compatriot Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha) took second on his remaining lap, simply edging out his teammate Jorge Lorenzo.
Dovizioso start his fighting from the beginning of the session, and posted the pole position lap time only at the second attempt. Rossi suffered a minor problem around T1 within the session, before re-launched another attack and just take a second on his last run.
