Valentino Rossi took the Runner-Up Spot In The 2016 MotoGP

Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha) took the runner-up spot in the 2016 MotoGP World Championship after winning second place in the GP Sepang – Malaysia, but the veteran Italian had been hoping for a victory after a duel for the first place – but he failed just a few laps to go.

Then, with the right side of the front tire suffered, the Italian made a mistake into Turn 1 and Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati) had no trouble to disappear from Rossi. Settle for P2 and concentrate on making it to the line, Rossi finally get a podium again and secured its place in the war title over teammate Lorenzo.

Reflecting on last season which was more competitive in terms of speed, but is not able to keep the title fight, Rossi stated that he was quite competitive. But not completely satisfied, because in the end he failed in the title race, because he made too a lot of mistakes and lost many points at Mugello due to engine failure.

With one round remaining, Rossi has scored two victories and ten podium, much different when compared with four wins and fifteen podiums last year. Important differences in this championship is that Rossi was able to score points in every race last season, but now he has suffered four DNF (potential 100 points) this season.
